‘A taste of village life, surrounded by the locals, is what appealed to Saskia Bosch and Mark Hendriksen, an Anglo-Dutch couple who restored three half-ruined houses to run as a boutique guesthouse, The Merchant’s House.’

“We happened upon the ‘abandoned village’ of Old Perithia [inland from Kassiopi] with only bees and butterflies and it felt like time had stood still,” says Bosch, a voice coach. “Our aim was to bring it back to life, and our house has been the catalyst for another three restorations in the area.”
